EIC Success in Scotsman IFA of the Year Competition 2010 EIC is proud and delighted to have achieved the ‘Runner Up' position in the Scotsman's IFA of the Year Competition 2010, announced on Friday 26th February 2011.
Scotsman IFA of the Year 2010 15th January 2011 The IFA of the Year 2010 competition has now closed and Scott Mackintosh reflects on the performance of EIC and the market in general terms. "I am delighted that our closing position reflects a return on investment of 23.9%, which compared with average returns of 8.46% and 8.51% respectively for Global Growth And Active Managed sectors, represents a fantastic performance for client funds. In fact, EIC ran as a top performer consistently throughout the competition and focused on maintaining a solid balance between risk and reward. 2010 was, effectively, a year of two halves; the FTSE actually ended the year with a positive return of 9% but it produced a negative return of 0.79% in the first two quarters - so that's almost a definition of volatility! This volatility will continue through 2011 and so, more than ever, expert advice will prove its worth and its value to clients as they look to navigate their way through the financial year."
Scotsman IFA of the Year 2010 4th December 2010 The penultimate monthly update for the IFA of the Year 2010 refers to "an eventful and volatile journey" for the competitors, all of whom have managed to deliver above average returns via their selections, with Scott Mackintosh yet again in the top tier. As the report comments, this has been a challenging year for, whilst markets have been more buoyant, investor risk appetite remains uncertain and even cautious and balanced investment profiles have been incredibly difficult to reflect within such a volatile climate. Of course, more than ever, this means that people should and do turn to experts for advice and help to navigate the challenges - as Mackintosh says "For a complex issue such as this, independent financial advice is essential."
Scotsman IFA of the Year 2010 6th November 2010 Still on top, as the competition results show an outstanding 17.2% growth in Scott Mackintosh's portfolio. With only a couple of months left to go, some reshuffling of portfolios might now make all the difference in terms of results.
Scotsman IFA of the Year 2010 25th September 2010 With just a few months left in the competition, Scott Mackintosh's portfolio shows an outstanding return of over 15%. Will market turbulence and a hinted double-dip recession change this in the remaining three months?
Scotsman IFA of the Year 2010 28th August 2010 At the half-way point of the competition, EIC's Scott Mackintosh is still on top in the IFA of the Year rankings. Here he explains his success: "Our portfolio currently holds over a third in international equities, which we feel offers good value especially when considered against the outlook for the UK...the outlook for returns on cash is bleak, and fixed-interest securities offer a good alternative during this period of low interest rates..."
Scotsman IFA of the Year 2010 26th June 2010 Despite a tough month in the markets, Scott Mackintosh's portfolio in the Scotsman IFA of the Year awards is back on top, representing a 10% growth in just three months of investment.
